‘Pride of Gibraltar’, also known as Honeywort, is a great filler/foliage plant in cut flower arrangements and the Spring garden. With its truly unusual colour, containing silver, green, purple and blue all on one stem, and lovely nodding heads with little bell flowers, this easy to start annual mixes well with other flowers.

TRANSPLANT - Start indoors 6 weeks before last frost in small cell trays or flats, 2 seeds per cell, thinning to one after germination. Transplant out after danger of heavy frost has passed- this hardy annual will survive light frosts.
DIRECT SOW- Sow seeds directly onto prepared flower garden beds in late Autumn and Winter. Press seeds 6mm deep into moist, well draining soil and cover. Keep evenly moist until germinated. Once germinated, thin to 1 plant every 20-25cm.
HARVESTING/VASE LIFE - We prefer to harvest once the tip of the stem arches and before the seeds begin to form on lower blooms. Harvest during the coolest hours of the day and then treat stems right away by dipping the bottom 2-3 inches in boiling water for 7-10 seconds and then placing them into cool water with preservative. Stems get very floppy immediately after harvest, but once hydrated, has a vase life of 7-10 days.
