Anethum graveolens

  • Easy flowering
  • Magnificent flavour
  • Versatile addition to any garden

Delicate looking herb with magnificent flavour - the sweetest in our trials; Leaves are fine, succulent and blue green.

Excels as a fresh leaf herb, edible and cut flower and bouquet filler and high yielding edible seed variety. When immature, the seeds add visual interest to bouquets and floral arrangements. Popular addition to sauces, salads, and soup.

Early flowering plants produce tall stems loaded with large chartreuse umbels that are 110-210mm across, making Bouquet the preferred dill for cut flower use and pickling. Flowers attract beneficial insects.

Edible Flowers: The flowers are used to garnish potato salad, green salads, and pickles. When broken into florets, they can be mixed into a cheese spread or omelet.

Also, an economical, fast-growing choice for baby-leaf production.

DIRECT SEED (recommended) - Sow dill in spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Plant seeds 4-6mm deep in rows 10-15cm apart. Cover seed. KEEP MOIST and do not let it dry out. Thinning is not necessary, but a 10cm final spacing produces healthy, full plants and 15cm is ideal for cut flower production.

TRANSPLANT - Dill can be started indoors in containers or cell trays. Sow 3-5 seeds per cell. Transplant out using 5-10cm spacing in rows at least 10cm apart.

NOTE - Many growers plant multiple successions of dill during a season especially if harvesting for the leaf stage.
