'Glacier' is a Swedish heirloom bred for cool climates and one of the earliest tomatoes we've grown. Compact, determinate, semi-dwarf plants produce abundant crops of smooth, round 50–75g cocktail tomatoes with excellent fruit set, even during cool spring weather.
The bright red fruit have the rich, balanced flavour expected of a true heirloom, combining natural sweetness with moderate acidity for a deliciously complex taste. Their smooth, juicy texture makes them equally suited to fresh eating, salads and lunchboxes.
On our farm, 'Glacier' was the first red tomato to ripen outdoors before Christmas in Southern Victoria, yet it continued producing well throughout the season. Its compact habit makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, raised beds and large containers, while its reliability in cooler conditions makes it especially valuable where spring temperatures delay other varieties.

TRANSPLANT (recommended) – Start transplants 5- 6 weeks before planting date. Sow seeds 6mm deep, 4 seeds/2.5cm. Lightly cover. Keep mix at 23-28°C. Pot up into 5cm or larger cells after first set of true leaves appear. For growing transplants, maintain temperature at around 22°C during the day and 18°C at night
Harden off plants by slightly reducing temperature to 15-18°C and reducing water for 2-3 days before transplanting.
NOTE - Don't start too early—leggy, root-bound, or flowering transplants can cause stunting and reduce early production. Avoid exposing unprotected plants to consecutive nightly temperatures below 7°C.
