‘Shanghai Green’ forms a compact, tight head with succulent, wide white ribs and mild, juicy leaves.
Can be harvested both as a miniature head or full size - the former ready in 25 days from transplant!
In addition to being very nutrient dense, bok choy is extremely cold hardy. Enjoy raw, stir fried with garlic and noodles or grilled. Thrives from mid winter - late May and will hold in the garden through the darkest days offering year round goodness.
Selected for wide ribs, tight heads, bolt resistance and uniformity at maturity.

DIRECT SEED - Sow 6mm deep as soon as soil can be worked in late winter/early spring through autumn. 8 seeds/25cm thinned to 10cm apart in rows 15-20cm apart. Diamond back moth larvae often devour spring crops with cabbage moth more attacking the autumn crop. Protect with row cover.
TRANSPLANT - Sow indoors 6mm deep, 2 seeds/cell thinned to 1 & transplanted late winter - mid/late autumn using the above spacing
