Brassica rapa

  • Uniform, compact, tight heads.
  • Broad white ribs with tender, juicy leaves.
  • Harvest as baby bok choy or full size.
  • Cold hardy and slow to bolt.
  • Selected for uniformity and reliable performance.

'Shanghai Green' produces beautifully compact, tight heads with broad, succulent white ribs and mild, tender leaves. Equally delicious raw, stir-fried or grilled, it is a versatile Asian green prized for its crisp texture and delicate flavour.

Harvest as a baby bok choy just 25 days after transplanting, or allow plants to mature into full-sized 20–25cm heads. The ability to harvest at multiple stages makes this an exceptionally productive variety for home gardens and market growers alike.

One of the most cold-hardy leafy vegetables, 'Shanghai Green' thrives from mid-winter through late autumn and holds well in the garden during the darkest months, providing fresh greens when few other leafy crops are at their best.

Our strain has been selected for broad white ribs, compact head formation, bolt resistance and excellent uniformity at maturity, producing dependable harvests season after season.
