‘Frosted Honeysuckle’ is a mix of soft yellow, coral, salmon and pink tipped waves and fans, on large robust plants, that combine well with a range of cut flowers especially the Queen Lime zinnias, cosmos, phlox and dahlias. We love how the colour rises to the tips of the shapes, like sea foam and their natural shimmer.
Celosia is a summer cut flower work horse if you live in warm areas - the past two seasons we have grown them in a hoop house to give them extra heat - and they thrived from early summer through until mid-late Autumn! Hard pinching encourages ample branching and longer stems.
‘Frosted Honeysuckle’ is our selection from ‘Supercrest Mix’. Inspired by Texas flower growers Pamela and Frank Arnosky, who have written wonderful articles in Growing For Market magazine, and the breeding work of Erin Benzakein, we began isolating colours in 2019 . Even into the fourth generation, there is an occasional bright colour that still arises in this open pollinated diverse gene pool.
