A wonderful study in glowing apricot, Winkie Kestrel deepens beautifully toward the centre before graduating to the warmest pale apricot on the outer petals. Cutting it reminded me of Aprikosenwähe — a wonderful Swiss apricot tart where baked egg custard surrounds lightly caramelised fruit.

We find this long, strong-stemmed cultivar worked beautifully in bouquets, with its pleasing head placement and warm apricot tones. A versatile and productive cut flower.
