We trialed many icebergs before finding Crispino. It is a uniform variety that is widely adaptable, holds well in the field, is lovely to behold and has exceptional flavour which explodes from its crunchy juiciness.

This is a classic iceberg lettuce with a small core and a large, well-formed dense head. But it’s gracefully ruffled outer leaves that fold into the blanched head and the explosion of sweet, crunchy, juiciness raise Crispino above its mass-produced relatives. Widely adaptable with a multitude of applications. We have grown CRISPINO for the past 4 seasons - in hot summers and cool summers, wet summers and dry summers. It has performed well and consistently, despite “ideal” conditions.
