The glossy green leaves with speckles of red attract but its the crisp, juicy, well balanced sweet and mineral flavour that make this lettuce a must have. Works well as a salad base, on a sandwich or on a hamburger, its crunch is not diminished by heat!

Loved by chefs and CSA members, we sowed Jester every three weeks from Spring – Autumn.

Slow to bolt on the longest days with high heat. This crisp leaf type can be harvested at the open stage, or later as a semi-tight pink hearted blanched head.

Bred by Frank Morton at Wild Garden Seed, Jester is a triple cross between Reine d’ Glaces, Merlot, and Flashy Trout Back.
