Lathyrus odoratus

‘Piggy Sue’ is named and bred by Keith Hammett after a pig rescued from farrowing stalls. With a pink flush on a cream ground, young flowers when first open appear as a pink picotee. Very early flowering Spencer type and has up to 6 flowers per stem. Highly scented. Sought after by designers. Good for cut flower production.

***PLEASE NOTE - In our germination tests, ‘Piggy Sue’ has a harder seed coating than our other varieties. We suggest germination in a cool room wrapped in a damp paper towel. As soon as rootlets show, transplant into ready pots. Seeds that do not germinate within 14 days are helped by slightly nicking the seed coat with a knife or nail clippers, avoiding the 'eye' area.
