A deep watermelon colour that spans a beautiful tonal range, Florelie Guava lightens as the blooms mature while retaining a wonderfully saturated centre. The petals can carry a darker outline early in the season, with delicate golden tips, adding another layer of colour.

Florelie Guava is a prolific producer of generous blooms on long, strong stems, making her a particularly useful variety for the cutting garden. She also holds well in the vase considering her generous flower size.

In our collection, she combines beautifully with autumnal rusts, vibrant cerise pinks and deep purples. We especially loved growing Florelie Guava alongside Isobel, Florelie Angostura,  Leleah Saffron Petticoats and Formby Crest — all equally generous producers - as they formed quick market bouquets.

Dahlias with the Florelie prefix have been bred by Lorelie Merton on Florelie, a specialty cut flower farm located in Bungaree, Victoria. In recognition of the years of dedication involved in developing beautiful cultivars, a royalty payment is made to Lorelie and the Florelie Farm with every tuber sold.
